The platform needed to support fragrance customization, add-ons, and a seamless browsing experience for over 200 formulations.

Stunning Results
This project was all about efficiency and accessibility. PBL needed a dedicated e-commerce platform that allowed brand owners, retailers, spas, and salons to order bulk beauty formulations effortlessly. The main challenge? Shopify’s native wholesale functionality is locked behind a $3K/month Shopify Plus plan. I developed a workaround that enabled wholesale functionality without the hefty price tag—while also ensuring an enhanced user experience with customized account features and a smooth fragrance selection process.
The design needed to reflect the luxurious, natural, and organic essence of PBL’s products. I used a clean, minimalistic aesthetic with a refined black, green, and white color palette to evoke a premium yet approachable feel. Built on Shopify, the website was also fully optimized for wholesale SEO, ensuring maximum visibility in search results.

The new platform has been a major success. Customers can now place bulk orders at their convenience, eliminating the need for constant back-and-forth with sales reps. As a result, the sales team can focus more on non-bulk clients, and the company has saved over $30K by avoiding Shopify Plus.
